My real name is Becky. I am a 34 years old, and I have been riding for 19 years. I am married, but no kids (except furry ones). I live in Utah. I have 8 horses: Lady (Ron Lynn's Lady), 23 year old bay TB mare. Lady was my first horse, I got her when I was 16 and she was 5. She is missing a pectoral muscle from when she escaped in 1998 (my jerk of an arab gelding opened the gate, thanks Hank!) and went over a concrete fire hydrant, so she has a helacious scar on her chest, but she is still pretty sound (she can't extend her gaits anymore, though). She tires easily these days, so we keep her riding schedule light. Dusty, 26 (?) year old grade buckskin gelding. Dusty was bought for my mom for a trail horse, but he's pretty much retired now. I ride him occasionally, but he gets heatstroke very easily, and out of breath wasily, so we don't do much. Charly, 20 (?) year old grade bay QH mare. Charly is my parade horse, and she is also a good trail horse (although I don't get to ride her on trails if my uncles along, he always borrows her). She is also a great horse for giving someone a lunge lesson on, very slow and quiet to help them build confidence. Hank (AM Teancum), 15 year old grey Arabian gelding. I bought Hank as a halter broke 5 year old for show purposes, but Hank had other plans. ; ) Rosie, 19 year old grade sorrel quarter pony mare. Rosie is THE best horse I ever had. We got her for my husband, who doesn't ride much, but he sure loves her. In the 13 years I've owned her, she's never bucked once! She has arthritis and is nearly blind in both eyes (she can see some, but we don't think it's much). Weirdly enough, this has made her less spooky rather than more spooky (she can't see it, she don't worry about it!). She still loves to be ridden and loves to GO, we just go a lot more stiffly and for less time than we used to! Musik (Sound of Musik), 16 year old bay Arabian mare. Musik is a new friend. She spent the last 5 years in a back yard, but she is a trained show horse, and I am finding out more things she can do with every ride! My husband loves riding her, too, and she takes very good care of him (like he said, any horse that will put up with his crappy riding is a gem of a horse!) Misty, 12 year old grade sorrel overo paint mare. Misty was given to me by my farrier after her owner died. Her owner loved her very much, he called her his little angel. The last 3 ride he had on her, he was so ill he could not sit up or hold the reins, but his friends tied him to Misty's saddle and she gently took him all over Antelope Island with no guidance at all. Misty has degenerative stifle disease that makes her future as a riding horse uncertain (she is currently not being ridden, but I am not done exploring treatment options), but she makes an awful purty lawn ornament! Seska (One Quarter Impulse), 10 year old dark bay TB/Paint mare. Seska is Lady's daughter. She has been difficult to train (several trainers sent her back as a hopeless case!) and is pretty spooky, spirited, and headstrong, but after years of struggling she is finally learning how to be a saddle horse! Now she is one of the best, most fun horses I ever rode! Granted, I didn't think when I bred my mare that it would be 10 years before the baby was anything useful, but I can say now, it was worth the wait! Also, I had 2 horses pass away in 2008: Foolish Cowgirl, 17 year old chestnut Appaloosa mare, and Beau, 14 year old red dun grade QH gelding and the best cow horse in the whole world! I have 3 older dogs and I have WAY too many cats. My OTHER hobby is bellydancing! My OTHER OTHER hobby is tropical fish, both salt and freshwater. : ) Feel free to email me, always.
