Ho my!

I do not know what I was thinking but I wanted to try to ride my old girl Kyna again.

We rode in the round pen, after a few minutes we got out and went to her paddock ( about 1 acre).

She was just an awsome LADY! I am ashame to say that I finnaly realise something today with her. She would not go nowhere without me sitting properly. I soon has I was too forward, or felt a little tence she would not go nowhere. I could have beat the crap out of her (no I did not) she would not move. BUT I soon has I had a good seat she was going. Isn't amazing! I had giving up on her because she did not want to walk more than a couple steps. BOY do I feel stupid! she just wanted me to relax and have a good seat!! It took me that long to realise that the poor creature wanted out of me. I was too busy feeling sorry for myself and been scared. Even more stupid realising that I have an awsome horse on my land that I was not using... go figure!

Now, we did not go very far, she stop often, but by that time, I had no feet in the stirups, my hands were loose by my side and I let her walk where ever she wanted as long as she was moving. Because of that, I was able to concentrate on my seat (I realise how much to lite and forward I have been riding). I EVEN CLOSED MY EYES AND ENJOYED HER MOVING...

We did not go on more than 20 min, because she had not riden like I said for at least 2 yrs. Once I got off, I took her saddle, and she followed me to the gate. She pushed gently with her nose in my back. Yes ladies and gents I was crying of joy! did we finnaly connected! well more to follow@

PS! I just wish my mustang would be the same!

Chantal, I am so glad that you and Kyna had a good ride together! That's wonderful! And after she hadn't even been ridden in two years! WOW!!! :o)

Good for you, and keep riding her! It's probably good for the old girl! ;oD

Maybe it was just a fluck today but sure had my eyes open!

I guess things happen when you are ready to receive them.

wow, way to go! Isn't it powerful what getting out from under fear can do for you. I just hate how fear keeps me bound up and planning for the worst all the while the good stuff passes by. I really like your plan of just keeping her moving. You're an inspiration.

Hi Cathy,

Just to keep her moving is not a plan of mine. It is actually from Parelli. I guess she might not feel so push around so much, after all she decides where to go. Actually I do not care for now if she wants to stay close to the gate, like I said as long as she is moving, if she is too close from the fence, I will pick up the renne and "suggest" to go to the left for ex. then as soon as she is on the move I let her go with out other commands. I am lucky to have her, while she figures where to go, I am trying to relax with her movements, and I am trying very hard to have that heavy seat! I am so quick to be crunsh on her shoulder. I guess it is a natural reaction for someone who is scared, we want to be in a ball but so we end up too forward, and that mean we are too light on the saddle. I felt today that I was way back on her but my friend said that I looked straight. Weird!!

Thanks Meezer,

I am hoping that she will teach me a lot more!

With time I am hoping also that I will be able to transfer all that good stuff to my mustang.

Cross my toes!hihi!!

This is a good lesson for all of us. It speaks to what DixieMom always says - we need to listen to our horses and hear what they are telling us. You are proof of that! Good for you for listening. So, it took you a few years to do it - so what! The important thing now is that your "ears" are opened and you are watching and listening. I think great things are ahead for you and Kyna - way to go!!!!

Thank you Determined.

I know I will have the ups and downs again. But I think I have a new tool to my knowledge. She gave me so much yesterday! Now, if I can transfer this to my mustang! time that is what I need! the more I get good experience, the more I will be able to go on.

thank you again.

Bravo! Tu n'est pas le seule qui penche en avant. Tout la ballade je me dis "pivoter les hanches, reculer les épaules, avancer les jambes" Ca marche!
