I love his color. He looks great :) I wouldn't call his "fat", just pleasantly plump. :)

I agree that he is not fat. He certainly is a handsome bay. He also looks like he has a very kind eye. I know what you mean by scaring each other. I am working on that myself. Indy is doing well even with all of the monsoon weather this week. This weekend I will be getting a picture of him on the list.

I feel so guilty to see him *plump* like you guys said! the poor guy! I was watching one evening on tv the wild mustang from Rocky montains. Ho my! they have a hard life, they have to stay away from so many predators! and trying to find some food, the hard winter etc. I realise how important the herd is to each individual. Diego does have a beautifull mane and tail. He is the leader of our pack, nobody even dare to touch him. All my other horses have lots of hair missing from grasing on the other side of the fence, I guess I should put an electric fence on! I hope it will go good with your boy IndyandLynda. For me in my boy, everyday is a different adventure. Please I can not wait to see your mustang!

I just saw that our picture is posted. That day of the pictures he had decided to spook at any sound or sight that was possibly scary, but looking at the picture I can see I had the reins a little too tight. I have moved Indy to a different place in the stables and he is much calmer now. I think it is because he is worn out keeping track of all of the activity. I have slowly been changing from riding English in a Western saddle to shifting back into a Western seat. It is hard, but I know Indy will respond better once I am settled better on his back. The only good thing about this time that I have ridden so forward is that I have not bounced on his back. We are almost ready to ride off the property which I have not done yet in the year I have been learning to ride Indy. I started riding him on 9/15 last year and it has been a long process, but the people who have been working with me have been very supportive. Also, the information on this list have helped me chase the bad memories away. Now I am hoping when I am off the property and I feel nervous I can do the routines I have seen here and settle quickly. Indy will be alright so all I have to work on is me.

Very nice picture Linda! Do you know what part of the country Indy came from? Mustangs have a special place in my heart. I had one years ago. Got her when she was also six months old and taught her to lead, stand tied, take the bit, saddle. Extremely smart and a fast learner (she picked up everything in spite of my amatuer training attempts. She went with my husband when we got divorced (I had foolishly given her to him as a birthday present, he still has her and she rides like a dream). Now that I'm starting to get my confidence back I'd like to get another mustang some day and get into endurance riding or competitive riding. They are naturals for these events. Flyingmane.......your boy is also gorgeous! Snickersmom :)

thank you SnickerMom, Yes he is a nice looking boy, although like I said he is a little heavy rite now. They are so so smart! but so sensitive! anyway mine is. I have to becarefull of what I want out of him, and I better ask clearly too! I can see he is trying very hard to understand, so it is so worth the time put in. I have started on riding him again, bareback in a small round pen. We are doing good. It helps me alot. We are not ready to go any further than the round pen thought. I have 3 babies also to take care of! where the time go!

Linda and Flyingmane, have you ever watched the Extreme Mustang Makeover shows where 100 trainers have (I think it's 90 days) to train their mustangs and then they are all brought together to show of their horses which are then auctioned off (a lot of the trainers bought their horses back). It was very inspiring to watch. There's also a mustang makeover website and some of the trainers have linked to their own websites and have written diaries and sow video of how they progressed with their horses. Snickersmom :)
