Today we loped in the small arena for the first time. It was just around half of it, but I did not grab mane and I did not even use a riding crop. It was fun. No one was in the arena and no one saw us. Then I was so excited, I am not sure if I stopped giving the right cue or Indy suddenly realized I was willing to ask him to work. We did not get another stretch of lope. I am so pleased with the advice I have seen here, especially the deeper seat discussion. For me the focus was on riding correctly so Indy would lope, I forgot to be afraid. I am going to get with his trainer to see if I am cueing him right and I have made an appointment with the riding instructor to help me ask consistantly with legs and hands.
